Language

Marking Rules

Transparent scoring system with computer-checked OMR sheets.

Point 1 โ€” Scoring System

โœ”๏ธ Right Answer +2 marks
โž– Blank / No Answer 0 marks
โœ–๏ธ Wrong Answer 0 marks

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: If you are unsure, leave it blank on the OMR sheet.

Point 2 โ€” Grading Process

OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheets are checked by computer software. The process is fully automatic with no human intervention.

What is Rank in Class?

Class rank is calculated within one Olympiad for a specific class.

How it works

Rank is based on score in one Olympiad for a specific class. Higher score = better rank. Example: Score 76 = Rank 1, Score 74 = Rank 2, Score 70 = Rank 3.

Tie-breaker

If scores are tied, the number of wrong answers is used. Fewer wrong answers = higher rank.

Tie-Breaker Example

Student Score Wrong Rank
Student A 76 6 Rank 3
Student B 76 5 Rank 1 (shared)
Student C 76 5 Rank 1 (shared)

โ„น๏ธ If two students share Rank 1, the next student gets Rank 3 (no Rank 2).

School Rank Calculation

School rank applies across all classes within the same school for a single Olympiad.

Definition

School rank is based on a student's score in one Olympiad across all classes in that school.

Rules

Same rules as class rank, primarily based on percentage score.

Shared ranks

Ranks are shared only if all details match exactly (score, wrong answers, etc.).

Prize sharing

If multiple students share a rank, the cash prize for that rank is split equally among them.

Cash Rewards

Eduno is among the few Olympiads offering cash rewards to participating schools.

๐Ÿฅ‡
School Rank 1
Olympiad Topper
โ‚น1,000
๐Ÿฅˆ
School Rank 2

๐Ÿฅ‰
School Rank 3

  • If multiple students share a rank, the cash prize for that rank is split equally.
  • Cash rewards apply only if the school has 70+ participants in that Olympiad. Amounts are fixed.

Special Medal Rules

Additional scenarios for medal allocation when top ranks do not meet standard thresholds.

  1. 1 If Rank 1 scores 60%โ€“74% (not qualifying for Gold), they receive Silver. If Rank 2 also qualifies (60%+), both Rank 1 and Rank 2 receive Silver.
  2. 2 If Rank 2 scores 50%โ€“59% (not qualifying for Silver), they receive Bronze. If Rank 3 also qualifies (50%+), both Rank 2 and Rank 3 receive Bronze.
  3. 3 If the top 3 students all score 50%โ€“59%, all three receive Bronze.
  4. 4 If no one in the top 3 scores 50% or higher, no medals are awarded at all.
  5. 5 A minimum of 5 students per class per subject is required for medals to be awarded.
